Expertise / Project management

Project management for industrial and GxP systems.

Hold the interfaces, not just the schedule.

Electrical, automation, instrumentation, IT, production and quality often have to move forward together. Our project management rests on a technical understanding of these disciplines, to anticipate dependencies, clarify responsibilities and coordinate the critical phases.

From scoping to commissioning and stabilisation, we work within the scope entrusted to us, building in GxP regulatory requirements where they apply.

Technical project management

Managing what happens between disciplines

A project’s success also depends on information, technical prerequisites and decisions being available at the right time. Our role is to identify these dependencies with the teams involved, to anticipate the sticking points.

  • Scoping & planning

Scope, milestones and deliverables defined with the disciplines involved, taking their constraints and technical dependencies into account.

  • Interface coordination

Who supplies what, to whom and by when: responsibilities and exchanges clearly defined between teams, suppliers and contractors.

  • Risks & governance

Open points and risks identified early enough to act, decisions tracked, steering committees and indicators suited to the project.

  • GxP requirements

Coordination of changes, testing and validation activities, in line with the responsibilities defined by the client’s quality system.

Commissioning & stabilisation

Start-up is prepared. Stabilisation is managed.

Teams ready on start-up day, prerequisites checked and an organised handover. Commissioning is not improvised, any more than the move into operation.

  1. Before

    Prepare the start-up

Technical prerequisites, procedures, training and responsibilities defined. For sensitive cutovers, documented rehearsals and fallback scenarios matched to the risks.

  2. Go-live

    Coordinate commissioning

Intervention window agreed with operations, start-up criteria checked and blocking points referred to the decision makers.

  3. After

    Manage stabilisation

Incidents prioritised by criticality and any GxP impact, follow-up of corrections, coordination of support and handover to operations on agreed exit criteria.

Applications & assignments

When to call on MAJ to manage a project?

  • Targeted intervention

A project to scope, risks to clarify or a commissioning to prepare. We analyse the situation and identify the critical points and priority actions.

Example Reviewing prerequisites and risks before commissioning.

  • Support for your project manager

Your project manager is already in place. We take on technical interfaces, a work package or a critical phase, with a role and responsibilities defined up front.

Example Coordinating stabilisation after a GxP system roll-out.

  • Full project management

We manage a project within an agreed scope, coordinating contractors and tracking decisions and risks, through to handover to operations.

Example An EMS project combining instrumentation, supervision and qualification.
